GRAPE SEED FLOUR – A VITAMIN-RICH ALL-ROUNDER!

Our grape seed flour is made from dried and cold-pressed grape seeds. We mill the press cake into a dark brown flour with a high content of OPC (Oligomeric Proanthocyanidins). OPCs are secondary plant compounds found in grape seeds with antioxidant effects. The antioxidant capacity of a food is described by the ORAC value (Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity). Grape seed flour is one of the foods with the highest ORAC value: 100,000 µmol TE/100g.

How do OPCs work? OPCs are among the strongest antioxidants and can slow down the aging process in cells by neutralizing free radicals. The purer the grape seed flour, the more effective the OPCs it contains.

 

How is grape seed flour used? Due to its very special heat-resistant property, grape seed flour retains its valuable ingredients even when heated strongly. It is therefore very well suited for baking. Furthermore, grape seed flour is neutral in taste and enhances many dishes such as pancakes, bread, pizzas, or cakes. The fiber content of over 60 percent is also a great advantage for the human organism.
