Apricot kernel oil - a culinary delight with a health bonus

Due to its intensely fruity taste, apricot kernel oil is ideal for refining cold dishes. Another dominant taste component is the nutty aroma, with the almond aroma in particular standing out. Oily and greasy attributes, which are accompanied by grainy, seedy and buttery components, round off the taste experience.

In 2018, the International Taste & Quality Institute awarded the Marbacher Ölmühle's apricot kernel oil the Superior Taste 2-Star Award. The yellow gold apricot kernel oil delights not only our palate with its unique fruity and nutty taste, but also our body thanks to the valuable ingredients. 25 percent of the oil consists of omega-6 fatty acids. Omega 6 is one of the unsaturated fatty acids that the body cannot produce itself, but is urgently needed to maintain important body functions such as

  • regulating blood pressure lowering cholesterol levels
  • Support of growth and repair processes
  • Defense against infections

Gentle oil with that certain something - ideal in cosmetics and body care products

The high concentration of oleic acid (66%) and linoleic acid (25%) makes the oil particularly popular in skin and hair care. Oleic acid is one of the most important representatives of unsaturated fatty acids and linoleic acid, for example, regulates the water balance and helps maintain the skin's natural barrier function. In hair care, the hair is supplied with moisture, gains volume and becomes supple.

Apricot kernel flour - the protein booster

Whatever remains after pressing the kernels, we finely grind into our apricot kernel flour. With its nutty taste, it offers an equal alternative to the better-known, slightly lighter almond flour. 100 grams of apricot kernel flour contains around 51 percent protein - a relatively high value compared to other flours.

The impressive protein content makes apricot kernel flour especially attractive for low-carb diets. With a share of 23 percent, fiber is the second most important nutrient group. Dietary fiber is a delicacy for our intestinal bacteria, which makes a significant contribution to our well-being.
